“Now this is the Law of the Jungle—as old and as true as the sky; And the Wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the Wolf that shall break it must die. As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.”
Rudyard Kippling
Deep in every successful man lies the heart of a Wolf; a leader of the pack. With each action, and backing each thought, is the shrewd wisdom which brought the leader to his given destiny. A wolf knows his strengths, weaknesses, allies and foes and plays them one against another to achieve his objectives.
As the world changes, it is up to one and all to embrace the future as an opportunity, rather rather than obstacle. For we will not advance filled with fear, but regress. Challenges are but one way of sorting the leaders from the followers.
It is said that one does not realize the reality of pain until it happens to you. However, a short walk through history reveals trials and tribulations that make today look like a battle with ants. Do not wallow in the overwhelming tirade from the media. Not long ago, in 1983 the national unemployment rate exceeded 10% and in some industrial areas exceeded 20%.
With current unemployment rate at 9%, in a consumer oriented society, we aren’t catering to the 9% unemployed, but the 91% who are employed. This does not discount the plight of the 9%. Regardless of what life has thrown at us, even among the most difficult circumstances, someone seems to figure out how to come out ahead.
Your wits are your teeth, your cunning is your pathfinder, your motivation is your speed. Assess your assets, gather your courage and move forward. The world awaits another winner.
